東方美人は、小緑葉蝉の吸汁を受けた茶芽から作られる、台湾を代表する烏龍茶のひとつです。

夏の茶園で自然に育まれた茶芽は、小緑葉蝉の働きによって成分が変化し、東方美人を象徴する蜜香や熟した果実のような香りへと導かれます。自然との共生によって生まれる独特の風味こそが、東方美人の大きな魅力です。

特に新竹県峨眉郷は、伝統的な東方美人の代表的な産地のひとつです。小緑葉蝉との共生と熟練した製茶技術によって、華やかな蜜香、熟した果実を思わせる香り、そして厚みのある茶湯が生み出されます。香りの高さだけではなく、まろやかな甘みと豊かな余韻を備えた、東方美人らしい均衡のとれた味わいが特徴です。

台湾烏龍茶の中でも発酵度が高く、青々しい香りや渋みは少なく、なめらかで温かみのある口当たりが楽しめます。蜂蜜や熟した果実を思わせる豊かな香りに、ほのかな花香が重なり、発酵によって生まれるやわらかな甘みと蜜のような余韻が長く続きます。

Oriental Beauty is one of Taiwan’s most distinctive oolongs, made from tea leaves naturally affected by the tea green leafhopper.

The insect’s feeding triggers a unique transformation in the leaves, creating the characteristic honeyed sweetness and ripe fruit aromas that define this tea. This natural interaction between the tea plant and its environment is at the heart of Oriental Beauty’s unique character.

With a higher level of oxidation than most Taiwanese oolongs, it offers a smooth and rounded profile without grassy notes or harsh astringency.
