Wild Raw Pu-erh “Song Yue”(Pine & Moon) 200g
2022 Spring
Origin: Jinggu, Yunnan
This tea was crafted by tea maker Tang Wang from wild-grown tea trees over one hundred years old, deep within the mountains of Jinggu.
Each spring, the harvest requires a long trek into remote forested terrain where ancient tea trees grow beneath towering Simao pine trees. Fresh buds and young leaves are picked by hand, then gently withered until floral, honey-like aromas emerge and the leaves become supple. The tea is traditionally processed through hand-firing in iron woks, rolling, and sun-drying.
The name Song Yue (Pine & Moon) was inspired by this landscape — ancient tea trees standing quietly beneath old pine forests, in mountains where only birdsong and the sound of wind through the pines accompany the harvest.
Jinggu raw pu-erh is known for its gentle character and aromatic sweetness. Compared with many other young pu-erhs, bitterness and astringency are relatively restrained. The liquor is soft and silky, opening with clear honeyed sweetness, followed by lingering hui gan and persistent sheng jin.
With time, the tea is expected to gain greater depth, texture, and complexity, gradually developing the character and elegance that make aged pu-erh so highly regarded.
